Update Nov 4th 2015   processing times in both locations has returned to normal.

Indian visa processing in San Francisco is likely to have severe delays over the next several weeks. We will continue working with the Indian consulate to manage applications as efficiently as possible, but we cannot make assurances regarding the visa processing time. The slowdown in processing is due to a high volume of turnover in the visa office staff in recent weeks, leading to new staff members being training and the resulting delays in processing.

We are seeing on average double the regular processing time for most visa applications, please plan accordingly to avoid disappointment.

We will monitor and update this information as changes come to light.

The Indian consulate in Atlanta is also experiencing delays due to a new computer system instalation, current processing times are as high as 10 business days.
