These requirements are applicable for US Citizens applying for a Vietnamese Business visa in Houston

PassportPassport

Please send TDS your current valid and signed passport. It must not expire within 6 months and must have at least one blank visa page. Foreign Embassies cannot issue a visa on a page not labeled as a Visa page. Amendment and Endorsement pages in the back of the passport cannot be used for issuance of a visa.
A visa cannot be stamped on a page even if only one Small Stamp is on the visa page. If you do not have any blank visa pages in your passport, TDS can assist you in applying for additional pages If your passport expires within 6 months, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

The Consulate of Vietnam requires a pre-approval letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vietnam.

Business LetterBusiness Letter

A business letter of responsibility is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
Consulate General of Vietnam, Visa Section, Houston, TX
The letter must explain all of the following:
Nature of business to be performed
Name and address of reference to be visited
This letter should request Multiple Entries visa if required
Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit
The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

Letter of InvitationLetter of Invitation

An official Letter of Invitation on company letterhead with the company seal/stamp from the host company in Vietnam is required, including all of the following:

* Name, gender, nationality, date of birth and passport number of the applicant.
* Purpose of visit.
* What city the applicant plans to visit.
* Date of entry and exit from Vietnam.
* Specific validity of the visa being requested.
* Who will provide financial support in Vietnam for the duration of stay.
* Full name of the company in Vietnam which invited the applicant.
* Full name, job title, address, phone and fax numbers of the contact company in Vietnam.
* Signature of the inviting contact.

Scans are accepted.

Loose Leaf VisaLoose Leaf Visa

A Vietnamese loose leaf visa is a visa issued on a separate sheet of paper not stamped into your actual passport. The benefit of applying for a loose leaf visa vs a traditional stamped visa is Traveldocs will not require you to send your passport as part of the application process only a copy will be required.

The Embassy of Vietnam offers a loose leaf visa, a process that permits you to apply for the visa without submitting your actual passport to the Consulate.

If you select a loose leaf visa all of the above requirements apply with two exceptions.
First, you must supply two passport photographs.
Second, you must submit a photocopy of your passport information page instead of your actual passport.

Once Traveldocs secures your loose leaf Vietnamese visa and returns it to you by FedEx we strongly recommend that you staple it into your passport for safe keeping or store it in a secure place as you will be required to present it to the immigration officials when you arrive in Vietnam.

Place of visa submission and collection should be CONSULATE GENERAL OF VIETNAM IN HOUSTON TEXAS, toward the bottom off the dropdown menu
Do not worry about uploading a photo it’s optional.
Click on “next” and proceed to answer all of the questions about your trip
For U.S. passport type select “ordinary.”
Enter the sponsor information (tourists can use the hotel information)
On the final page of the online application, select CONSULATE GENERAL OF VIETNAM IN HOUSTON TEXAS and submit the form.
A PDF will open. Print and sign the PDF send it to Traveldocs along with your supporting documentation.

The Vietnam visa can usually be extended after arrival in Vietnam at the Vietnam Immigration Service, for a further 20 days stay. There is a fee of $25 paid to V.I.S.
