US Citizens: Get your Taiwan Business visa with the TDS Houston Office

Please send TDS your current valid and signed passport. It must not expire within 6 months and must contain one blank facing visa page. Foreign Embassies cannot issue a visa on a page not labeled as a Visa page. Amendment and Endorsement pages in the back of the passport cannot be used for issuance of a visa.
A visa cannot be stamped on a page even if only one Small Stamp is on the visa page. If your passport expires within 6 months, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

Please send a copy of your round trip airline tickets, or itinerary or e-ticket, or letter of confirmation from a travel agent. The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information. The Embassy does not recommend purchasing your ticket prior to a visa being issued.

A business letter of responsibility is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
Taipei Economic Cultural Representative Office (TECRO), Visa Section, Houston, TX
The letter must explain all of the following:
Nature of business to be performed
Name and address of reference to be visited
This letter should request Multiple Entries visa if required
Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit
The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

You must complete and send an Authorization Letter addressed to "Attn: Embassy of Taiwan" stating "I authorize Travel Document Systems to pick up my passport and discuss the status of my application with the Embassy of Taiwan Visa Section". Click Here for the Authorization Letter.

Letter explaining purpose of the trip and plans for the stay in Taiwan.

A copy of the applicant's recent bank statement or evidence of adequate finance, such as a letter from a bank, or money market statement. It is advisable to erase account numbers.

Copy of your Hotel Confirmation is required

Visa not required for stay up to 90 days (no extension permitted).

Passport must have at least six months remaining validity (from the date of entry into Taiwan) and contain at least one blank visa page for visa to be issued.

Traveler must hold confirmed ticket (and valid visa, if applicable) to next destination country.

A Taiwan visitors visa is usually valid for five years from date of issue for multiple entries. Period of stay not to exceed two months each entry.

Traveler must have no record of law violation.
