These requirements are applicable for US Citizens applying for a Bangladesh Tourist visa in New York

Visa on Arrival

It is possible to obtain your visa upon arrival in Bangladesh. Visa requirements and restrictions vary greatly when obtaining an on arrival visa. The local immigration officials also hold the right to refuse entry to anyone for any reason. We strongly recommend that you obtain your visa before departure to Bangladesh. Should you choose to obtain your visa upon arrival, you will need to inquire with your airline if boarding is allowed without a visa.

Passport

Please send TDS your current valid and signed passport. U.S passport must be valid at least 6 months beyond intended stay and must have at least one blank visa page. Foreign Embassies cannot issue a visa on a page not labeled as a Visa page. Amendment and Endorsement pages in the back of the passport cannot be used for issuance of a visa.
A visa cannot be stamped on a page even if only one Small Stamp is on the visa page. If you do not have any blank visa pages in your passport, TDS can assist you in applying for additional pages If your passport is not valid at least 6 months beyond intended stay you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

Proof of Departure

Please send a copy of your round trip airline tickets, or itinerary or e-ticket, or letter of confirmation from a travel agent. The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information. The Embassy does not recommend purchasing your ticket prior to a visa being issued.

Invitation Letter

Letter of invitation on letterhead from a relative, friend, host company or organization in Bangladesh. Invitation should detail intended dates of arrival and departure from the country, your name and a copy of passport, and request any special visa conditions (Multiple Entries visa) if required. Fax or scan is accepted.

Employment Letter

If employed please provide an Employment Letter stating who you are employed by, what your position is and what your duties are.

Hotel Confirmation

If staying at a hotel please provide your hotel confirmation(s) covering your period of stay in Bangladesh along with a letter explaining where you will be staying and that you the client does not know anyone there and going for tourist purposes only.

Students

If you are a student you must write a letter explaining which school you attend.
