Notes
- Normal processing
time for visa approval and visa issuance is approximately five-seven
business days. RUSH SERVICE (for single entry visa only)
of two-three business days is available for an additional embassy
fee of $20.00
- The VISIT
VISA for tourist and family visits (or sales/marketing visits
of less than 30 days stay) is issued for a single entry,
for a specific period of time up to a maximum of 30 days stay,
or for up to 90 days for applicants of Vietnamese origin. An additional
20 days extension of stay may be authorized on application after
arrival in Vietnam.
- The visa
is valid for entry and exit through Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City
or DaNang Airports only. If your point of entry is different (e.g.
by rail) you must request this specifically on your application
form.
- Multiple
entry visas, valid for up to one month, or, three months, or six
months for stays in Vietnam of up to 30 days each visit, are available
for business and tourist visitors, but processing time is not
less than one week.
- Former Vietnamese
nationals and Vietnamese holders of U.S. Re-Entry Permits should
require a special application form and instructions. They can
usually be issued a visa valid for a stay of up to 90 days.

for Vietnamese born U.S. citizens and residents. Please

- The Vietnam
visa can usually be extended after arrival in Vietnam at the Vietnam
Immigration Service, for a further 20 days stay. There is a fee
of $25 paid to V.I.S.
- Passport
must have at least six months remaining validity and contain at
least one blank visa page for visa to be issued. TDS can assist
with obtaining U.S. Passports,
whether new issue, renewal, or obtaining additional visa pages
for a valid passport.

REGISTER YOUR TRIP:
The U.S. Department of State encourages all American travelers to register with their local Embassy or Consulate when arriving in a foreign country. Registration helps the Embassy to provide important services for American citizens residing or traveling abroad. Some of these services include:

Locating individuals in cases of family or personal emergencies,
-
Relaying important travel and safety information about the region,
-
Arranging evacuation transportation in cases of natural disaster or civil unrest,
-
Issuing replacement passports when originals are lost, and
-
A number of other administrative services relating to personal documentation.
Without the information provided through registration, the Embassy is severely hindered in its ability to provide these services. Many of these services involve emergency situations and time constraints, therefore failure to register will almost certainly lead to delays at moments when you can least afford them.
