    How It Works

    An E Visa is an official authorization for a short visit to Sri Lanka. The visa is valid for 6 months for double entry of up to 60 days per visit and is issued electronically or 1 Year Multiple Entry valid for up to 90 day stay for each visit. The E Visa is submitted online and the E Visa approval will be returned via email. The Sri Lanka E Visa is for travel to Sri Lanka for tourism, business, holiday, visiting friends and relatives, medical treatment or participate in sporting events, competitions and activities relating to cultural performances.

    Transit E visa is valid for 4 days for travelers arriving by Cruise Ship. - (currently not available)

    You must be within 90 days of your entry date before your application can be submitted if your entry date is outside of 90 days TDS will hold your application and process it at the appropriate time.

    Most Nationalities can apply for a Sri Lanka ETA visa except nationals of The Republic of Singapore, The Republic of Seychelles and The Republic of Maldives as these three countries can visit Sri Lanka for up to 30 days without a visa.

    • Applicants of the below nationalities need to submit yellow fever vaccination certificate on arrival in Sri Lanka in order to comply with international health regulations.

    Sri Lankan E Visa Requirements

    • For travel to Sri Lanka, the traveler must carry an original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, with at least one blank visa page available for stamp(s). Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for stamps. The Sri Lanka visa (E Visa) is electronic and will not be inside the passport.
    • Confirmed onward or return airline ticket shown at your point of entry in Sri Lanka.
    • Travelers must show evidence of sufficient funds to support themselves while in Sri Lanka.
    • Include a copy of the main details page of your passport.

    Although it is not required that you have a printed copy as your ETA visa is electronically linked to your passport, we do recommend having a copy with you when entering Sri Lanka.
