REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS & ALIEN RESIDENTS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER NEW ZEALAND
Tourist
Visa
U.S. citizens staying less than three months in New Zealand do not require a visa. A visa is required for a stay from three to six months.
- Submit your
Passport with at least six months remaining validity
- 1 Visa Application
Form, fully completed and signed
- 1 Passport-type
photograph required
- Evidence
of legal residence in U.S.A. (ie: valid multiple entry visa with
I-94 attached, Notarized copy of alien registration card, or original)
- Copy of round
trip airline tickets or itinerary
- Proof of
sufficient funds for support in New Zealand (ie: Copy of most
recent bank statement or letter of reference from bank showing
at least NZ$1000 for each month of the stay.)
- Completed Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)

- A business
letter of responsibility (sample) is required, to be typewritten on your
company letterhead and addressed to:
- Completed Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)

The letter must explain all of the following:
- The purpose
of travel and duties to be performed in New Zealand
- Guarantee
financial support for the applicant while in New Zealand

- The New Zealand
visa is usually issued for one entry, for stay of up to
6 months maximum.
REGISTER YOUR TRIP:
The U.S. Department of State encourages all American travelers to register with their local Embassy or Consulate when arriving in a foreign country. Registration helps the Embassy to provide important services for American citizens residing or traveling abroad. Some of these services include:

Locating individuals in cases of family or personal emergencies,

Relaying important travel and safety information about the region,

Arranging evacuation transportation in cases of natural disaster or civil unrest,

Issuing replacement passports when originals are lost, and
-
A number of other administrative services relating to personal documentation.
Without the information provided through registration, the Embassy is severely hindered in its ability to provide these services. Many of these services involve emergency situations and time constraints, therefore failure to register will almost certainly lead to delays at moments when you can least afford them.
