A letter of introduction, from the applicant and addressed to the Embassy of Kazakhstan is required, stating the purpose and dates of the visit and your itinerary in Kazakhstan.

Invitation is not required for single entry stay up to thirty (30) days. Applicants for double entry or multiple entry visas will require a letter of invitation from the Kazakh host, approved by the Kazakhstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs

An invitation is no longer required for a single entry business visa for U.S. citizens for a stay up to 30 days, but applicants for double entry, or multiple entries visas, or stays longer than 30 days, will require a letter of invitation from the Kazakh host, approved by the Kazakhstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs

- A business
letter of responsibility (sample) is required, to be typewritten on your
company letterhead and addressed to:
Embassy of Kazakhstan, Consular Section, Washington
D.C.
The
letter must explain all of the following:
- The Applicant's full name and Passport number
- The purpose
of travel (business negotiations etc.)
- Reference to be visited, (name and address in Kazakhstan)
- The letter must ask for a visa to be issued and state exactly which type of visa.
- And state
that the company guarantees financial support for the visit
and return transportation.
For Multiple Entries visa; Double Entry visa; or stays in Kazakhstan exceeding 30 days, an official
invitation from authorized organization in the Kazakhstan is required. The
organization must be duly registered in Kazakhstan. The invitation
must state your name, dates of the visit, and cities to be visited.
Organization in Kazakhstan must also have confirmation sent
by the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan to their Embassy in Washington
on your behalf.

Notes
- Visa issue is 5 business days from the date of submission. The Embassy is not open each Wednesday.
- If you are transiting
through Kazakhstan, to other Newly Independant States, you must obtain
a Kazakh transit visa. Fee $95 - valid for 72 hours transit - onward visa must appear in the passport. Apply using tourist visa instructions (excluding invitation).

All
foreign citizens must register at the local office of the Minister
of Interior or at the hotel they are staying at within 72 hours
upon arrival to Kazakhstan. Otherwise they will be fined by the
immigration service

HIV
test certificate for those applying for a visa for a duration of
stay over 3 months.

Tourist
Visa issued only up to one month and as a single entry only.

REGISTER YOUR TRIP:
The U.S. Department of State encourages all American travelers to register with their local Embassy or Consulate when arriving in a foreign country. Registration helps the Embassy to provide important services for American citizens residing or traveling abroad. Some of these services include:

Locating individuals in cases of family or personal emergencies,

Relaying important travel and safety information about the region,

Arranging evacuation transportation in cases of natural disaster or civil unrest,

Issuing replacement passports when originals are lost, and
-
A number of other administrative services relating to personal documentation.
Without the information provided through registration, the Embassy is severely hindered in its ability to provide these services. Many of these services involve emergency situations and time constraints, therefore failure to register will almost certainly lead to delays at moments when you can least afford them.
