REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER IRAN
Until further notice the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs is only issuing pre-authorization to tourist
visitors who have purchased their hotels through a Iranian
tour operator and use a minimum of ground services (transfers,
transportation, and guide)
Tourist
Visa
- Submit your
U.S. Passport (must be valid for six months beyond intended stay).
- 2 Visa Application
Forms, fully completed and signed (application form is 2 pages,
front & back).
- 3 color photographs
( females ages 9 and up must cover their hair).
- Completed Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)
- Visa authorization
number must be submitted at time of processing.
- Unaccompanied female
visitors are required to be accompanied by an individual guide
- Round-trip tickets
or an itinerary.
- Submit you
U.S. Passport (must be valid for six months beyond intended stay)
- 2 Visa Application

- 3 color

- Visa authorization
number must be submitted at time of processing.
- Unaccompanied

business letter from your employer stating all of the below:
- Purpose
of your trip.
- Dates of
stay in Iran.
- Name and
address of the contact(s) in Iran.
- If staying
with a host or at a hotel, the name and address must be giving.
- The letter
from your employer must state that the company will assume financial
responsibility for the trip.
Authorization
for Visa
- In order
for Travel Document Systems to obtain authorization from Iran,
we need the following information from the traveler:
- Legible
Passport Copies.
- Father's
Name.
- Occupation.
- Date of
arrival & departure.
- If you have
traveled to Iran before, previous dates must be specified.
- Travel itinerary
within Iran.
- Copy of
flight itinerary into and out of Iran.
- Authorization
fee $150.00 (US Citizens) - Allow 14 days.
- Authorization
fee $100.00 (non-US Citizens) - Allow 14 days

- Processing
time for visa authorization from Iran is about 7-14 business
days

Cost is $150.00.
- Processing
time for the visa is 5 - 7 business days ($50.00).
- Expedited
visa issue in 48 hours is available for additional $50.00

REGISTER YOUR TRIP:
The U.S. Department of State encourages all American travelers to register with their local Embassy or Consulate when arriving in a foreign country. Registration helps the Embassy to provide important services for American citizens residing or traveling abroad. Some of these services include:

Locating individuals in cases of family or personal emergencies,

Relaying important travel and safety information about the region,

Arranging evacuation transportation in cases of natural disaster or civil unrest,

Issuing replacement passports when originals are lost, and
-
A number of other administrative services relating to personal documentation.
Without the information provided through registration, the Embassy is severely hindered in its ability to provide these services. Many of these services involve emergency situations and time constraints, therefore failure to register will almost certainly lead to delays at moments when you can least afford them.
