- Submit U.S.
Passport - valid at least 6 months beyond stay, or longer than the visa's validity and containing at least one blank visa page (other than amendment/endorsement pages)

- Copy of round-trip air tickets, or travel agency/airline itinerary.
- Hotel confirmation required
- Applicants staying with family in China, rather than staying at a hotel, must provide round-trip air tickets or travel agency/airline itinerary and an invitation from the Chinese relatives, and evidence of kinship such as:
- A copy of Birth Certificate -OR-
- A copy of a Marriage Certificate
- Applicants staying with friends or relatives must provide round-trip air tickets or travel agency/airline itinerary; must include a letter of invitation from the hosts or relatives in China including the host's name, address, and telephone number and must fully complete all questions in Section 4 Page 2 of the application form.
- Visitors to China whose purpose of visit is short term study (less than 180 days), intern etc., may not apply for tourist visas. Please click below for the appropriate visa instructions:

- Multiple
entry "L" visas for tourist visits and family visit travelers valid for six months or twelve months are also available. Submit a written explantion of why a Multiple Entries Visa is required. You may apply for a 6 months or 12 months validity visa, with stays in China of up to 30-90 days each visit

-or- Foreign citizens of Chinese origin who were born in China may apply for up to 24 months months validity visa, with stays in China of up to 30-90 days each visit. A written application for stays up to 6 months may be considered.

May 01, 2003 the Chinese Embassy and Consulates ceased accepting
visa applications by mail service, including express services. The
embassy requests visa applicants appear in person or use a visa service.

fee per visa, plus Consular Fee per visa, plus return Shipping Fee.
