REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER BRAZIL
U.S.
Official or Diplomatic Passport Holders
Submit the Following Documents
- U.S.
Passport (not a copy), must be valid for at least 6 months
from date of entry
- 1 Brazil
Visa Application form,
fully completed and signed.
- 1 Professional Passport-type
photograph (digital potographs not accepted)
- Letter
from sending department or agency, addressed to " Embassy
of Brazil, Consular Section, Washington D.C." detailing
purpose of travel, dates of the trip, and guaranteeing financial
support and return transportation.
- If the
applicant is not a resident of DC, KY, MD OH, VA or WV, a
visa cover letter from the U.S. Department of State in Washington
D.C. is also required.

Visa
Notes
- The visa
application may be photocopied, but it must be back-to-back, correct
side up, on a single sheet of letter size paper (8 1/2 x 11").
- The Embassy
processing fee is non-refundable. Visa applications which are
rejected by the Embassy for reasons of incomplete or missing documents,
or lacking specific business letter details, will be returned
WITHOUT the Embassy processing fee.
- Children
under age 18 not travelling with both parents must provide a notarized
letter of consent. This letter must be authenticated by the Brazilian
Consulate, fee $20 per page.
- Int'l Certificate
of Vaccination showing valid polio vaccinations required for all
children age 7 and under.
- International
Certificate of Vaccination for yellow fever is required if entering
Brazil from an infected country, including any part of Colombia,
Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.
- The Brazil
business visa is usually valid for entry into Brazil (and must
be first used) within 90 days of issue date. The visa is valid
for 90 days from the date of first entry.
