REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER BRAZIL

Due to a new software system installed by the Brazilian Consulate in Los Angeles, there are technology issues which are resulting in extreme restrictions with time and submissions to the consulate per day.

Brazil Business Visa
(Temporary II Visa)

  • For business negotiations, sales and marketing only. If the purpose of visit or the nature of duties to be performed in Brazil includes any form of "technical support" e.g. installation, repair, start-up, software development, etc., the Temporary V Visa is mandatory.
  • Jurisdiction: These instructions apply only residents of the following states in the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Brazil in Los Angeles, CA: Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, and in the State of California, the counties of Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. .

Submit the Following:

  • Submit U.S. Passport (not a copy), must be valid for at least 6 months from date of entry
  • 1 Brazil Visa Application form, fully completed and signed.
  • Completed Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)
  • 1 Professional Passport-type photograph (digital potographs not accepted)
  • Proof of Residency: Provide a clear photocopy of driver's license as proof of residency in the Los Angeles Consulate's jurisdiction
  • Copy of round trip ticket, or itinerary from an air carrier or travel agent attesting to the acquisition of the ticket, showing flight information and dates of departure to and from Brazil.
  • A business letter from your firm, addressed to:

    Consulate General of Brazil, Visa Section, Los Angeles, CA.

    The letter should state all of the following
    • The purpose of the trip in detail;
    • The nature of duties to be performed in exact detail; and declaring that "technical support" will not be performed in Brazil;
    • Guaranteeing financial support for the applicant while in Brazil, moral responsibility, and return transportation.
    • The letter should be signed by a company executive other than the applicant.

Fees

  • TDS Service Fee:

  • Consular Fee:           
     $200.00 Per Visa - Valid three months to five years
            
  • Include credit card authorization, a check or money order payable to "Travel Document Systems, Inc." for TDS handling fee per visa, plus Consular Fee per visa, plus return Shipping Fee.

Processing Instructions

    Please forward the completed requirements detailed above to:

    Your application will be checked and hand carried to the Brazil Consulate. Normal processing time is 21 business days after submission.

  • This information pertains to applicants who are residents of the following states: Arizona, California (Southern), Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming, and in the State of California, the counties of Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura
  • Children under age 18 not travelling with both parents must provide a notarized letter of consent. This letter must be authenticated by the Brazilian Consulate, fee $20 per page.
  • International Certificate of Vaccination for yellow fever is required if arriving in Brazil from any area of an infected country.
  • The Brazil business visa is usually valid for entry into Brazil for a period of three months to five years(and must be first used) within 90 days of issue date.
  • There are nine different Brazilian consular offices in the U.S.-- each issues its own application form and requirements may vary.
  • Some Consulates do not accept visa applications by mail.
