REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER BRAZIL
Brazil
Business Visa
(Temporary II Visa)
- For business
negotiations, sales and marketing only. If the purpose of
visit or the nature of duties to be performed in Brazil includes
any form of "technical support" e.g. installation,
repair, start-up, software development, etc., the Temporary
V Visa is mandatory.
Submit
U.S. Passport containing two blank facing visa pages and must be valid for at least
6 months from date of entry

Visa Application Form,
fully completed and signed. (The Brazil consulate in Chicago has produced an electronic visa applicationOnce on the link above, click on "Visa Request" and follow the steps. When completed print a copy of the application and send to TDS)
1 Professional Passport-type
photograph (digital potographs not accepted)
Proof of Residency - Provide a clear photocopy of your driver license showing residence in the jurisdiction of the Chicago Consulate
Completed and signed Sworn Statement Waiver. Failure to complete this form and enclose it with your application materials will delay the processing of your visa
A letter of invitation from sponsor (either host company or individual) explaining the relationship to the applicant and the purpose of travel. In addition, the letter must indicate the length of stay, place of stay, and contact information

Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)
Copy
of round trip ticket, or itinerary from an air carrier or
travel agent attesting to the acquisition of the ticket, showing
flight information and dates of departure to and from Brazil.
A business
letter from your firm, addressed to:
"Consulate General of Brazil, Visa Section, Chicago, IL."
The letter must state all of the following:
The
purpose of the trip in detail
The nature
of duties to be performed in exact detail
Declaring
that "technical support" will not be performed in Brazil
- Guaranteeing
financial support for the applicant while in Brazil, moral
responsibility, and return transportation.
- The letter
should be signed by a company executive other than the applicant.
- Your
application will be checked and hand carried to the Brazil
Consulate. Normal processing time is 10 business days.

Your application will be hand carried to the Brazil Consulate, and is usually processed in not less than 15 business days.

Notes
-
The Brazil visa is issued valid for multiple entries from 3 months to 60 months at the discretion of the Consulate. The period of stay in Brazil is up to 90 days each entry, or for a maximum stay of 180 days during any 12 months period. The visa must be first used within 90 days of the date of issue of the visa, or it expires.
Children
under age 18 not travelling with both parents must provide a notarized
letter of consent.
This letter
must be authenticated by the Brazilian Consulate, fee $20 per
page.
Int'l Certificate
of Vaccination showing valid polio vaccinations required for all
children age 7 and under.
International
Certificate of Vaccination for yellow fever is required if arriving in
Brazil from any area of an infected country.
There are
nine different Brazilian consular offices in the U.S.-- each issues
its own application form and requirements may vary.
Some Consulates
do not accept visa applications by mail.
