REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER BRAZIL

Brazil Business Visa
(Temporary II Visa)

  • For business negotiations, sales and marketing only. If the purpose of visit or the nature of duties to be performed in Brazil includes any form of "technical support" e.g. installation, repair, start-up, software development, etc., the Temporary V Visa is mandatory.
  • This information applies only to residents of the following states in the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Brazil in Boston: Maine, Massachusetts, New Hamphshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Submit the Following:

  • Submit your U.S. Passport (not a copy), must be valid for at least 6 months from date of entry
  • 1 Brazil Application Form, fully completed and signed
  • 1 Professional Passport-type photograph (digital potographs not accepted)
  • Photocopy of a valid drivers license showing residence in this Consulate's jurisdiction
  • Completed Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)
  • Copy of round trip ticket, or itinerary from an air carrier or travel agent attesting to the acquisition of the ticket, showing flight information and dates of departure to and from Brazil.
  • A business letter from your firm, addressed to:

    "Consulate General of Brazil, Visa Section, Boston MA, "
  • The letter must state all of the following:


    • The purpose of the trip in detail
    • The nature of duties to be performed in exact detail
    • Declaring that "technical support" will not be performed in Brazil
    • Guaranteeing financial support for the applicant while in Brazil, moral responsibility, and return transportation.
    • The letter should be signed by a company executive other than the applicant.

  • Your application will be checked and hand carried to the Brazil Consulate. Normal processing time is not less than two weeks.

Fees

  • TDS Service Fee:     
    $60.00 per visa

  • Consular Fee:           
      $210.00 Per Visa - Valid three months to five years at the discretion of the Consulate. the visa must be first used within three months of the date of issue

      
  • Include credit card authorization, a check or money order payable to "Travel Document Systems, Inc." for TDS handling fee per visa, plus Consular Fee per visa, plus return Shipping Fee.

Visa Notes

  • International Certificate of Vaccination for yellow fever is required if arriving in Brazil within 3 months of visiting any area of an infected country.
  • The Brazil business visa is usually valid for entry into Brazil for between 3 months and 5 years (and must be first used) within 90 days of issue date.
  • Some Brazilian Consulates do not accept visa applications by mail.
