REQUIREMENTS
FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA FOR
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
VISITOR VISA (Visit Friends/Relatives)
U.S. tourist and social visitors will be issued a
visa upon arrival for a stay in UAE for up to 30 days.
Business visitors will be issued a visa upon arrival
for a stay in UAE for up to 30 days. Frequent business visitors
may apply prior to travel for a ten year visa valid for multiple
entries, using the following requirements:
- Submit
your valid, signed, U.S. Passport (must have at least 6 months
remaining validity)
- 2 Visa
Application Forms, completed
and signed
- 2 Passport-Type
photographs required
- Completed
Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)
- A business
letter of responsibility (sample) is required, to be typewritten on your
company letterhead and addressed to:
Embassy of UAE, Visa Section, Washington D.C.
The letter must state all of the following:
- The nature
of the business to be performed
- The name
of the business reference to be visited
- Guarantee
sufficient financial support for the visit
- Guarantee
return transportation to the USA.

The business letter should be signed by a company officer
other than the applicant.

Your sponsor in UAE must send a telex or fax to the UAE Embassy
in Washington D.C. stating the name of the applicant, confirming
the business trip (company address and type of business).

Visa
Information
- For
business travelers, a multiple entry visa valid for up to
10 years is available.
- Passport
must have at least six months remaining validity and contain
at least one blank visa page for visa to be issued. TDS can
assist with obtaining U.S.
Passports, whether new issue, renewal, or obtaining additional
visa pages for a valid passport.
- Special
requirements exist for U.S. Official and
Diplomatic passport holders.
Transit
Visa:
- Transit
visa may be issued at the airport valid for tourist or business
stay of thirty days.
Register with U.S. Embassy in UAE:
The U.S. Department of State encourages all American travelers to register with their local Embassy or Consulate when arriving in a foreign country. Registration helps the Embassy to provide important services for American citizens residing or traveling abroad. Some of these services include:

Locating individuals in cases of family or personal emergencies,

Relaying important travel and safety information about the region,

Arranging evacuation transportation in cases of natural disaster or civil unrest,

Issuing replacement passports when originals are lost, and
-
A number of other administrative services relating to personal documentation.
Without the information provided through registration, the Embassy is severely hindered in its ability to provide these services. Many of these services involve emergency situations and time constraints, therefore failure to register will almost certainly lead to delays at moments when you can least afford them.
